I agree George. And if Dr. Pinter was accurately quoted as saying "the impact proponents are putting all their remaining eggs in the nanodiamond basket" he is completely uniformed on all the other important features associated with the beginning of the Younger Dryas. What of the coincident carbon 14 and beryllium 10 increase in radionuclides, the elevated nitrate deposits in Greenland ice cores, and the enigmatic increase in ammonium in the same cores (usually associated with warmer intervals)? Also with a little further digging, one can link the demise of many Ice Age mammals with the most likely cause, a cosmic encounter. Finally, and this is not a complete list by any means, but if the astronomical evidence as presnted by Dr. William Napier, Dr. Duncan Steele and some others are included the case for a cosmic encounter becomes even stronger. The investigative? journalist and Dr. Pinter should both be strongly criticised for their very shoddy work.
